Celebrate National Medical Librarians Month! Meet our Informationist, Elizabeth Kavanaugh

“As the Digital Systems Informationist, my favorite part is showcasing the library’s digital initiatives that make better health easier for Geisinger providers, researchers, staff, faculty, and students!” - Liz

 As our Digital Systems Informationist, Liz Kavanaugh, MLIS, AHIP, works with both the Health Sciences Library and the School of Medicine Library. At the HSL, she maintains the infrastructure of the Digital Systems Initiative. This involves monitoring subscriptions to make sure everyone has the access they need and troubleshooting when problems arise. Liz also provides instruction to specialty groups throughout the system. She recently instructed staff at Geisinger Marworth Treatment Center and the Nursing Research Center in how to access information used in research and at the point of care.

At the School of Medicine, students may recognize Liz as the voice of the asynchronous orientations for the Phase 1, Phase 2, and MBS classes.
