Posted by Liz Kavanaugh on 11/11/2022

"I like how every day is different: there are a variety of roles that I perform and audiences that I interact with on any given day.”  Jess Garsed, MLS

Jessica Garsed, MLIS, Clinical Informationist, Central Region, provides education, literature review, and curriculum information resource consultations for the Residency and Fellowship programs in the Central and Western Regions and the Geisinger School of Nursing at Lewistown.

Jessica works with the Medical Genetics team, participating in their weekly clinical meeting. Each week, she locates scientific literature to assist with the diagnosis of children with genetic conditions.  She also identifies resources to help the team counsel these patients and their family regarding their treatment options and planning for future developments.

What clients are saying about Jess’s literature searching and workshops:

“WOW!  This is really amazing and thorough.  Thank you so much for getting it to me so quickly!  There are even some gems of articles in here for other projects I'm doing.”

Dr. Clemens, MD, Pediatric Emergency Medicine
