AI Tools: Complying with Copyright and Licenses for Published Content

Are you planning or working on a project that could benefit from any of the AI tools that assist with tasks like summarizing the literature, extracting data from literature, and synthesizing findings? Such tools can save time and perhaps improve how you identify connections in the literature for your project. Yet, there are issues to consider. To summarize or analyze literature, an artificial intelligence tool will prompt you to upload content, such as journal articles or book excerpts. This seems straightforward, but there are a couple of issues to keep in mind.
