Photograph: Mary A. Gearhart, Director, Nursing/George F. Geisinger Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, 1915-1931 (She was the daughter of Mrs. Geisinger's personal secretary Boyd Gearhart. She was educated at the Ashland State Hospital and the Mary Fahnestock School for Nurses, New York City. After serving at Ashland State Hospital, she became the first Directress of Nursing and organized the School of Nursing at the George F. Geisinger Memorial Hospital. Preparing for her wedding in 1932, she retired in December 1931, and was succeeded by Beatrice Spargo.) ,
