Introducing Library Searches with Ovid Discovery AI
The Geisinger Health Sciences Libraries are pleased to introduce Ovid Discovery AI, an enhancement to our standard Basic Search results for electronic content by keyword or research topic.
As always, the Basic Search is most useful for finding articles, chapters, and conference proceedings.

An example here may be a search for:
- Recent advancements in fall prevention techniques
- postpartum OCD
- "antimicrobial lock therapy"
- PMID:29341232
If you want an article by name or keyword, Basic Search is the place for you!
With the addition of Ovid Discovery AI, you can now generate immediate summaries and analyses based on the available results from your own search across the library’s own subscribed and open collection of electronic resources.

Using the new AI Assistant button, you can:
- Generate a best match summary of top search results
- Select any set of specific publications for summarization
- View key publication details and study-level metrics for selected results
- Delve deeper into main concepts within the literature
Check out a short video on How to Use the AI Assistant tool on Ovid Discovery, or ask a library staff member about using Ovid Discovery AI in your own searches!
