Finding Full Text

Posted by Liz Kavanaugh on 10/23/2025

There are three quick ways to download research articles: through our databases, by using LibKey Nomad, and via the Discover search box on our Library homepage.

Databases

The best way to find full text within a database (such as PubMed) is to use the Geisinger Library Article Linker button. It appears next to titles in the search results when you log in to the database from the library’s homepage (and therefore it can access our journal subscriptions).

Click the Geisinger Library button to see if full text is available.

LibKey Nomad

An alternative to clicking the Geisinger Library button is to install LibKey Nomad. This is a browser extension that provides instant links to full text articles within database search results. Learn more about LibKey Nomad.

Library Search

If you are looking for a specific article, you can search for it in our Discover search. Enter the article title into the search box. If you do not see your article in the results list, you can order it through the Interlibrary Loan form.

Off Campus Access

To get the Geisinger Library Article Linker button to appear while off campus, use any of the following options:

1. Use a link from the database list on the homepage under Databases A-Z.

2. Set up your PubMed My NCBI account and designate Geisinger Library in the Outside Tool option.
