National Medical Librarians Month

Posted by Liz Kavanaugh on 10/29/2024

October is National Medical Librarians Month, a time to recognize the work of our library services team. Informationists and other library staff make it easier for learners, providers, faculty, and staff to discover and use high quality information for clinical decision-making, quality improvement, research, teaching and learning.

“Geisinger’s health science library resources have been a tremendous help as a clinical pharmacist and educator. I am able to easily access full text articles that I need to aid in clinical decision making and research...An informationist has provided several educational sessions to our pharmacy preceptors and residents on the library’s resources which have been a huge hit.”
-Keturah DelGrosso, PharmD, Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacist

"The Geisinger System Library staff have been invaluable in obtaining reference articles and literature searched for various clinical research projects and conference presentations.
We utilize their services on a regular basis for the general education of the medical students, internal medicine residents and cardiology fellows."
-Steven Voyce, MD, FACC, FSCAI, FACP, Professor of Cardiology
Undergraduate Medical Education Lead-Heart Institute
Attending Cardiologist, Geisinger Community Medical Center
