Get Alerts for Your Favorite Searches and Journals

Ovid Discovery’s Alerts

Using OVID Discovery to keep up with your favorite journals or to save relevant searches is one of the many benefits the library has to offer.

Setting up alerts with Discovery is an easy process through your My Profile account:

1. Look for the "Sign up | Log in" link at the top right of our homepage to register for a new My Profile account (or log in if you’ve already done this).
2. Enter your Geisinger email and create a password. 

Creating Journal Alerts has never been simpler. From the Library eResources search bar:

1. Type in the journal name you would like to be notified of when a new issue is ready.
2. Click Activate Journal Alert (the bell icon will turn golden).
3. Each new issue information will be emailed to you.

To Save Searches use the Discover search bar:

1. Perform a search of interest for which you would like to set up an alert.
2. Click the gold star icon located to the right within the search box to "Save search”.
3. Click the Saved Searches link to set up the frequency of email notifications.

4. Each saved search emailed will show the following:

• A link to the search results
• A drop-down menu to specify the frequency of email notifications
• An X button that deletes the item from the list of saved searches
