Key Information Sources to Use in Clinical Training

Posted by Liz Kavanaugh on 6/17/2022

Clinical Point of Care (POC) tools can help you find valuable information while you’re in the clinic.

Utilize DynaMed to see topic summaries that use an evidence-based methodology, clinical guidelines, and ICD-10 codes for thousands of indications.  Follow topic summaries to get notified when there are practice changing updates.
Clinical overviews, drug monographs, and multimedia options are just some of the offerings available via ClinicalKey and their keyword-based platform.  You can also utilize it to locate and export images to PowerPoint.
VisualDx has diagnostic and treatment information for conditions with both visual and non-visual presentations.
UpToDate provides background and diagnostic information on a plethora of health conditions, with links to drug information from LexiComp, a powerhouse of a pharmaceutical database available to those in Geisinger System Services.

All of these options have handy apps that can be downloaded to your mobile phone and/or tablet for easy access on-the-go!  Check them out and create a personal account.
